yeah same happened to me. I was towing (13000 lbs) in stop and go traffic up hill and by the time i passed the accident my speedo went to 0. Once i got up to speed and got everything cooled down a bit it kicked back in at about 55 mph. Havent had a problem since.

Maybe the speed sensor that is on top of the rear differential (with two wires). Easy to change.

I don't think that would cause the speedo to go to zero because it'll still read off of the front ABS sensors. I had to disconnect all 3 to make it stop (saved the warranty for one last trip).

My guess would be the cluster itself. I've heard of similar problems several times on the 05+ trucks and the cluster was the problem.

My Speedo drops off and the ABS light stays on till I restart the truck. This does not happen often but it just drops off and comes back on right away.

A bad rear wheel speed sensor will cause the speedo to quit. If you have a DVOM, jack the rear up and support on jack stands, unplug the RWS, attach the DVOM set on A.C., put in gear and give a little gas. Voltage should go up as wheel speed increases. If it won't read any voltage, sensor is bad. BTW, the above is hooked up to the sensor.... not the wires. hope this helps.
You may want to check all your fuses too just as a precaution.
