Hi all...I'm new to this forum and hopefully you guys can help me out. I have a '06 F350 dually (Lar) 4.30 gears with tow boss and tow command. Problem I have is that the truck doesn't make the hp ford saids that it's suppose to make. I replaced a '03 with this truck and have been disappointed with the power ever since. Truck has been to dealer four times trying to fix the problem, but it doesn't throw any codes. I had to actually take it and dyno the truck (at my expense) to prove that something was wrong. I dyno 222 RWHP with only 348 RWTQ. This doesn't work very well when towing my 44 ft enclose car trailer. The problem I see is that the truck is running over 18 to 1 A/F ratio (way to lean), and the dealer has been very understanding, but Ford says that it's my problem and they can't/won't do anything about it since there are no codes. Dealer and I both say that all ford needs to do is change the fuel tables and reflash the PCM. However ford factory tech claims that they don't know what an air/fuel ratio is.... I guess what I need to know is, has anyone else had a problem with their 6.0 not making the power that it should. Heard a rumor that ford was having problems with tranny holding up so they dialed down the 6.0 to try and ride things out until the new engine/tranny comes out.

I hate to pay a tuner to get what I already paid FMC for. Ford advertise some many horses and so much torque and I just want what I paid for.:rant
or at least don't diss me the way ford's customer service did. -mad.
This will more than likely wind up in court before it's all over with.

welcome to teh site
i see a big problem and yes its ford and the epa
ditch the factory muffler NOW
thne if its not required in your state, ditch the cat
i lost over 250 F egts and she runs as if freed up mechanically
my boss tows my rv below at 75 with zero concerns
and how many miles do you have on it?
invest 400 bucks and get a good exhaust. if yu plan on keeping your warranty DO NOT get a tuner yet.
it will be found
also did you get the last emissions recall done?
it added a bit of umph to my truck

cb5300 im curious to know what you thing acceptable torque & hp
at the wheels should be...

the trucks are reported/sold as 320hp/560ftlbs...but thats at the
CRANK & does NOT provide loss for transmission/transfer/ or REAR (4.30)

admittedly a drop of 100hp seems high for the above...but who says
the dyno you ran on is accurate too ? ive run my bikes on 3 different
dynos (on different days etc) and gotten different readings each time.

Lose the cat, get a free flow muffler, throw on an intake [ you choose] , and try again. 4.30's will pull a house, but empty..well...

I think that around 20% loss is what I expected, however the dealer's mech. says that's way to much, that the loss is way less than that. As far as the dyno goes, it's pretty darn accurate. I've tested on it serveral times and it always repeats the numbers...I agree that buying an Edge or Banks would solve some of my problems, and I intend to do that later down the road, however I would like to have my base line of 325 HP and 570 lb-ft. that ford claims for this truck ('06 model).

20% loss from an auto trans & transfer case...seems reasonable at best...
hell most claim 10-15% from an auto trans alone.

take a sampling...go get a few NEW trucks and run 'em on the SAME
dyno...i bet not two are the same...youre whinning about what you THINK
it should be...what do you have to compare this "under performance " too....

lets see your dyno print outs....
