no egr cooler

i was speaking with a guy, he stated i could if i wanted to remove the egr cooler and use a 3/4 heater hose and connect from the oil cooler to the intake and delete the egr cooler.. (as long as i blocked off or removed all egr on the truck.) is this possible?

If you are positive you have no exhaust flow to the cooler yes. But why go through all that aggravation? If you have the EGR blocked off, just leave the cooler in place, and let the coolant go through it. It won't effect performance because it's not in the main flow of the air. Besides, it will be a lot easier to pass inspection with the enviro-nazis with it in.

Yes it can be done, you'd have to weld up the hole in up pipe to prevent exhaust gasses from leaking, or get a new up pipe such as this one from Elite

If you want to take the guess work out of it check this out Liberator is making an actual EGR cooler delete kit, Elite should have one coming soon too.
