Hello all
Located in Las Vegas Nevada. I have a 2000 F350 CCSB AT Bone Stock DD. Purchased 3 years ago with 247k miles. Currently 284k miles. Oil changes every 3500 miles and FF every 10k. Never a hiccup in three years.

Two days ago driving in town engine hot with no load other then a 65 gallon water tank in the bed the Service Engine Soon light came on and the engine started running rough for many 5 seconds the light out and runs fine. Got home, 10 miles, and put my cheap scan tool on to check for DTC code. No codes and running fine. Next day on startup, 39 degrees, plugged in, it started after 5 sec of cranking and light on, running rough. 30 sec and all normal. Drove 40 miles no issue. Letter in the day went for a short hop, 10 miles and it did it again, 5 sec of rough running and Service light. Home for the night. Professional scan tool showed no DTC’s and running fine. No history of DTC for Engine, only one that said it had a crash sensor DTC in the past.

Left for the day and 2 miles later running rough light on and it stayed that way for 12 miles then it stalled at a stop and difficult getting restarted. When running it acted like a Gas Engine with the air screws backed way our of the carburetor. Loping and had to keep throttle applied to keep running. Back home I checked the fuel filter for debris. Housing was clean. New IH CPS and rough idle. Cheap scanner now says error. No fuel leaks or oil leaks. Any ideas from the Gurus?

We found a bad ICP Sensor leaking oil up the connector and bad Pigtail. That got us back to just intermittent rough running.

We wiggled and jiggled wiring until we found the need to pull the Valve Cover on the Left bank. Contribution test said #8 was not operating. We did the quarter fix on the lock retainer on the Injector harness inside the Valve cover and now it has never run so smooth. IH Parts dept closes early on Saturday so Ill get two new Gasket/Harness' on Monday.

My friend has a Matco Scanner that is amazing in its capabilities. He does this work daily so I can see the need for a costly tool, (4k). The Autozone scanner seems to be useless for anything on the Truck. It works fine on our Jeep TJ.

Auto Enginuity looks like a useful tool for me for future work at a much more reasonable cost since I already have a PC Laptop around.
