No 2nd gear

I have 180,000 miles on my 2001 Excursion 7.3L and i just lost 2nd gear in the tranny. Do i have any options besides a complete rebuild? or do i bite the bullet and have it rebuilt with upgraded parts? Is 180,000 miles good for this tranny or should i have been able to go further? I tow about 12 times a year mostly a car hauler trailer loaded with atv's or an old 20' camper.

Rebuild it. Good chance you can get the 2nd gear issue corrected. But at 180k miles your better off getting it rebuilt.

Rebuild it, and have it done right. You did good. I wish mine would have lasted that long.
