That pool is great looking :sweet Back in a former life I used to work on pools in Florida. We used install a product called "Lectronator" which utilized salt water. Had a 'cell' that got plumbed in line with the circulation system that used electrolysis to convert the salt to a form of chlorine. The water felt great and it took getting used to the 'no chlorine' smell. Definately better on the equipment :sweet

Greg thats 'zactly how its done...even today...

its an "in line" device that ALL the water flows thru
(when the filter/pumps are running)...there are PLATES
(made of titanium) that are charged electrically...the salt
water & electrolysis react and give off chlorine.

the generator (often referred to as a salt cell) measure
the saline content of the water & indicates the PPM (part
per million)...its this PPM display that indicates when more
salt should be added (40lb bags at a time)

a bag of salt (99.99% pure...this aint no morton iodized salt)
cost 4-7 bucks per 30 or 40lb bag...depending on where you buy
it and depending on other chemicals that may be added to
the pure salt.

the kids love it but still think its weird seeing 40lb bags of fine
grain salt being dumped in...i had to add a bag last weekend...the
kids were wonder if they had to get out....i said NOPE...its just salt.

I put in a salt water pool in last yr it is the best, low maint and feels better. I just check PH and add conditioner 1 time a month and every 6 monthe to a yr add about 50 lbs of salt and done.

Allthough I have found that in Phoenix Az the sun is brutal on the chlorine and I have to suplement with chlorine tabs in the dead of summer. But they are sure nice I like your landscapping choice looks nice. Oh and if ya aint got it I recomend getting a UV system put on it, it uses UV light to breaK down and remove sun tan lotion and body oils and such that swimmers leave behind pretty good feature. Not a major job just a 4 inch by maybe 1 ft long box and a little tubing to run pool water under the light and your in bizz.

what salt cell do you have ? how much do your run your filter/pump &
whats your cell % set at ???

you talkin' 'bout an ozone generator (cuts down on the salt cell run
time too)....generally theyre refered to as "ozon-in-ator" ours uses
a feed tube to the pump....injects "champagne" lookin' bubbles into the
pool

you may be interested: we installed an IN FLOOR cleaning system...
no "shark" or polaris running 'round the pool TRYING to suck up dust
dirt sand etc...i never have to put in, take out, or repair a wall walking
cleaner (polaris)...everything is built into the pool floor (and color matched)
and steps...the system works WONDERFULLY...we have NO sand
or dirt build up in corners or step edges...even before we finished
landscaping (my wife says were STILL not finished but....)

Its the Quickchlor for the salt and QuickOzone for the UV thing and I got the in floor cleaning system it is the best we got alot of dust storms here and after a bad one its dirty as hell then goes through a clean cycle at night......crystal clear after that i love it and i have to keep my settings at 10 to keep the chlor in the pool in the summer  winter months around 4 or 5

Oh and for the wife saying your not finished yet :roflmao I hear ya brother.
