Welcome to SDD. Diesels are hard to start in cold weather. That is why you have glow plugs. You can recycle the Wait to Start light a couple of times to help if it is cold. Plugging the block heater will help also. Be careful with the block heater as it draws a lot of power. Plug it in for 2 to 3 hours before you start the truck. I would leave the stock air cleaner in place. It will filter better than any of the after market air systems. It may not look cool but it is a good system. A good 4' exhaust system will help. I will leave the Programmer to others here, as I don't have any personal experience with it.

Welcome glad you joined us here at SDD.com. Well like Dave said there are a couple of DIY things you can do to help out with some added power. If you want to start off now with the exhaust, straight pipe the whole thing. But yes a good 4" exhaust will help out. Now as far as the programmer or the chip that is your call. You will want to start out with guages before you put any of that stuff on that way you can monitor everything that is going on. Now I see you have a 6.0L, I have heard some members on here running the SCT Livewire and really enjoying that programmer. Now you can ask around and have a good chip burned for your truck also. Well good luck sure other members will give you some idea's also.

One other thing if forgot to add. Be careful with tuning on the 6.0L they have weak head studs. Just to let you know. Sure other 6.0 owners will give you some insight out the 6.0L more then I will.
