I have been tossing around the idea of trading in my truck along with the wifes 2010 Flex on a 2013 F350 crew cab long bed. My wife would take over the 2013 Nissan Altima that I bought a couple months ago.

I sold my trucking business and now work for the Coast Guard as civilian so I bought the Altima since I really didnt need the F350 as much anymore. I do still plow and also have a 32 foot travel trailer to pull so a F150 was not in the plans.

I am not as well read on the new trucks as I should be. I bought the 04 brand new without much research besides knowing that I have only ever bought Fords (the Altima is the first non ford in over 20 years) I am was a lucky one on the 04, it has been a great truck with only minor issues with 130,000 miles.

I am just wondering how reliable the 6.7 is and if there are any big problems that really stick out?

Thanks for the help once again guys!

I haven't had any problems with my 2011 that I bought in May 2010. Just pulled our 31'TT from WA to NY to NM. I think the turbo and trans issues have been weeded out.

X2 with my 2012 Kevin. Only 5K on it but absolutly No problems or issues with it's capabilities. 400 horse, 800 ft.pounds of torque.. it's totally capable of anything I would ever need from it. The ride and comfort.. for a 1 ton (?) are phenominal.. IMO.

This is the First 350, of the 4 i've had.. that I don't think I need to "Tweak" it any. (well maybe the DPF thing will get deleted one day:sly).

agreed to what everyone else said above...I LOVED my 7.3 and hated to let it go, but I'm glad I waited. I love my 2011 and really believe Ford got it right this time!

Thanks for the advice guys, everyone reiterated what i already knew. I found a 2013 F350 Crew Cab Lariat long bed that in kodiak brown that i really like. I just havent had the chance with work to even talk to them about it. My 04 has been a great truck and I love the way it pulls and plows, just nervous that something big could happen at any time.

I will keep everyone up to date....

Little update here. I ended up buying a 2013 Ram 2500 SLT Mega Cab... never thought I would drive anything but a ford! The bottom line was the money, this truck was a lot cheaper than a comparable Ford! even though my father is probably rolling over in his grave, I am very happy with the rig so far. It was a tough decision because the 04 gave me so many years of dependable service. we shall see I guess.

I'm of the mindset that whatever you drive should be what you want. I've owned them all and had the ole' turd now and again. I do love this 6.7L though, she is a brute and so nice at the same time. Be careful, drive well.
