new to diesel mods and need help!!

i have a 97 7.3 power stroke and all i have done to it is a edge evolution programer and i have been hearing that i need to get a exaust and a pyrometer but i have no idea at all and i am not very engine smart so i need some advise from people who know more that me

Definitely depends on what you want to do w/ the truck, But from what it sounds like to me...

I would recommend a 3" Down Pipe and if yer up to it a 4" exhaust. Then get guages, Pyro atleast but if yer already doin it, the standard is usually pyro, boost, and tranny temp (if auto). And of course a Tymar Intake.

with the edge, you will definitely need a pyro and a boost gauge. I have the Evolution and last weekend, on the middle 80hp setting, hit overboost and 1200* on the highway only going 72 when I went up a hill. I dropped down to the 60 hp setting for the trip home and still saw some high temps on hills. That is all with a 4" turbo back exhaust and my tymar intake.

Take the Edge off until you get

• an open element air cleaner
• 3 inch open down pipe
• its OK to stick with the factory exhaust
• remove the cat if you desire
• remove the muffler if you desire
• GET GUAGES!!!
• GET GUAGES!!!
• one last thing
• GET GUAGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once you do those things its safe to put your Edge back in action, you might also consider bumping up the fuel pressure with the FPR shim and injection pressure with the 10K mod.

thank you guys ill do what i have been told before i put that back on i sure as hell dont want my baby to break by the way it only has 45000 miles on it right now its still really fresh for a diesel haha ill try and get some pictures up of it when i can
