http://www.tirerack.com carries both the D-rated and E-rated BFG 285's, but since it's been a while since I looked there, I can't remember the prices off the top of my head.
Even though online might be cheaper, I prefer to buy my tires from Sears since there is a Sears store pretty much everywhere and it's no big deal to get service (road hazard, rotation, etc...) when we move.
On edit: the E-rated BFG AT/KO 285/75R16E tires from there are $179/each.

Did you look at the Nitto Terra Grapplers.......I put 4- 10 ply 305/70/16's on my fact alloys everything including 100 percent replacment/no pro rated road hazard for $749 ....out the door
I'll prolly see 50 k mi out of these...got close to 40k on em now

Whatabudro and I both have a set of 285 75-16 but we have th Yoko AT+II
and it looks like you got the same size but in a Yoko AT-S ?
We've had great wear out of ours...good luck

The "D" rated 285 BFG's at my local shop (Big O) were about $230.00 each

My last set of BFG's in an "E" rated 10 ply were about $575.00 out the door, remember that was 235/85/16's. To go with 285 BFG's would have run me well over a grand out the door. These Yokos out the door were approx 850 clams. Tires aint cheap any more!

I had to pick and choose the right tire shop to even get a set of "D" rated rubber on my F-350. Some shops around here will not put anything less (by law?) than a 10 ply E rated tire on a one ton.
I think the weight rating on these D rated 285 Yoko's is either the same or slightly higher than the weight rating in the E rated 235 BFG's.
The ride is definetly softer on the Yokos, I will prolly miss the 10 ply tread also. The BFG's also have a 3 ply sidewall whereas everything else out there is a 2 ply sidewall. For my style of driving I will miss that extra side ply I think. This truely will be a test to see if these things stand up for me.

Did you look at the Nitto Terra Grapplers.......
I only looked at them as far as they had a sweet azzed set (315/50/20's I think
) mounted up on a good looking set of chrome wheels.......... They wanted 2399.00 for the whole getup..... But I did like the look of the Nitto tires, for whatever reason I had Yoko's on the brain and thats what I ended up with.
