Hey everybody, just thought I would pose a question about my truck to see if anybody had any suggestions, thanks!
I have a 2001 7.3 liter excursion, pulling out of a parking space at work I immediately noticed that I had no power steering and very little brakes. I got back into the space, popped the hood and everything looked normal, then I noticed red fluid coming from underneath the engine. With a little bit of research a couple of buddies told me to replace the outer power steering line. Couldn't tell if it was bad or not but thought it couldn't hurt. Replaced the line and I wanted to start the truck up to see if the leaking had stopped. HERE IS THE PROBLEM: The truck will not start now!! It seems like its not getting enough fuel, I've tried the fuel shut-off switch, checked all the fuses, tried to jump it off of another powerstroke, kicked the tires and yelled every cuss word I can think of at it!!!
If anybody has any suggestions please let me know, thanks again and seeing as I am pretty new to the diesel community I am super excited to be part of this forum!!:hail

Welcome to SSD.com, first off we don't cuss our Powerstrokes, we hug them and buy them the best diesel we can get for them and take them for long walks, OH sorry, wrong forum. LOL
Don't know about the leaking red fluid but it sounds like it could be a CPS has gone bad.
Sure others will have more to say soon.

Your leak is in the power steering system. This also works the brake booster. The fluid is power steering fluid, and not ATF.

I'd vote CPS too. For the price.. I'd replace It.. as a place to start, based on what you've desribed.
