I wish I didn't have it, but we get inspected every other year. So it stays. I have removed mine and cleaned it a few times, but it was not needed. Drive the truck like you stole it and the EGR should not give you troubles. I have something like 127,000 miles with only an item or two needing fixing. I had to replace the FICM (Fuel Injection Control Module) awhile back and an injector at 90,000 miles. That is it.

Yea the 6.0 is a troublesome motor BUT I have also seen guys not have any issues with them. Yours is a newer 6.0 so not as many probs. All the probs have been addressed. Sucks they are sometimes expensive to fix. As long as you dont mod the crap out of it like high hp tunes and stuff you should be fine. Head gaskets and egr probs are the number 1 probs with the 6.0 but there are fixes for them. If your state doesnt have yearly inspections, get the egr delete kit. If you plan on modding your truck for high hp, do the headstud kit now. If not and you leave it stock, you should be fine. I would suggest gettin some gauges no matter what to keep an eye on your egt's. That will kill your engine.
