New improved Turbo installed/ Pic's of old

Ok, Robert, guys and gals the new turbo is on the truck, It LIVES again......
the change went without a hitch...... the tech say's its the new updated turbo some changes inside like no sharp edges all rounded off now and I believe a new stainless bed plate for the VGT so they don't hang up any more.

Anyway here are a few pic's I took of the old trubo if you want a look.

Glad to hear you are all squared away again!!

You mentioned an upgraded turbo, I am curious, did they change the turbo setup from 2003 to 2007? I just had my 2003 replaced with 2007 and the turbo looks completely different. Any thoughts?

Robert, I run a little Power Service thru it from time to time, maybe 3 times a year.
Every once and awhile step on the loud pedal all the way but my hot rodding days are over.......

im not sure i agree w/ you...the "rust" is surface rust
and its on the EXHAUST side of the turbine...this
looks typical.

yep at home under the beam eye it looks more like galling of teh surface, which probably caused the stick stick

Performance update

As you can see in the pic's I sent, where the VGT vanes rest is all gauled up, sometimes the vanes would open all the way and over boost then they would close a stick and no power.

Anyway the truck now has more power I can feel, and much less and I mean much less lag. I think it's even better than when I first brought it home.

I haven't had a chance to pull the 5th wheel trailer yet but when I do, I'll let you'all know how it does, OK?

glad to hear she works b e a u tyful. and you have echoed what i have been saying for some time now. mine too goes like no tomorrow. to bad everybody can't just go in and get the new upgraded turbo..
