I bought my truck used (Very, very used) for 7 grand. My plan is to do a build over the next five or six years. My ultimate goal is to have a 425 RWHP daily driver that I will take down the track every once in a while and a couple sled pulls to see what it's like. Based on those goals, here is a list of aftermarket parts I plan to get. The list is pretty much in order of priority, and my initial focus is going to be strengthening the transmission, engine, and drivetrain to handle any power adders.

I know it's more fun to go right into boosting the horsepower numbers, and some see it as a source of pride to say they've destroyed half a dozen transmissions, but I'm not a sponsored driver, so I have to try to avoid destroying things if possible.

Any suggestions from knowledgeable members on additions, subtractions, or substitutions to my list based on my end goal would be appreciated.

ITP DIESEL AIH DELETE 10.00
ITP DIESEL 4 GAUGE PHANTOM DIY KIT (BOOST,TRANS, FUEL, EGT) 570.00
TUFF COUNTRY 1" TRACK BAR 130.00
ATS STAGE 2 PERFORMANCE TRANSMISSION 4600.00
PURE DIESEL POWER 6.0L TRANSMISSION COOLER WITH INSTALL KIT 550.00
AFE 4" EXHAUST SYSTEM 240.00
ITP DIESEL F5 CHIP 470.00
HYPERMAX FORGED CONNECTING RODS 2700.00
ARP HEAD STUD KIT 630.00
WIDE OPEN PERFORMANCE MAIN GIRDLE AND STUD KIT 1250.00
WIDE OPEN PERFORMANCE MODDED H2E TURBO 2300.00
ADRENALINE PERFORMANCE HPOP 600.00
ROSEWOOD DIESEL SHOP 238 HYBRID INJECTOR REBUILD 1800.00
AIR DOG 150 GPH FUEL SYSTEM 500.00

There are more parts in my list, but they are looks or replacement stock parts. I also have a list of services to perform, such as having the block and heads particle inspected, having the ring and pinion cryo'd, and maybe having a stage 12 flux capacitor or contiuom transfunctioner installed.

looks like you got a good list started. and i see gauges is at the top, so thats good. i would suggest the F-6 instead of the F-5. that way you can change tunes easier if you wanted to.

its a addicting thing, man and his truck, you may or may not start on some of those repairs sooner than later, i found that out, mine mad it to 294 and we believe i trashed a crank bearing, in progress rebuild, question-whats having the ring and pinion cryo'd never heard of that

Cryo treatment

Having a part cryo'd means sending it to a facility where a company puts the part in a container and uses liquid Nitrogen (I think) to bring it to a few hundred degrees below zero, then they bring it back up to room temp. This is said to strengthen the part by removing tiny stress fractures made during the manufacturing process. There's one company that will do an entire engine and tranny for about 900 bucks, but I was told not to bother with that since I'm only trying to get to 425 hp or so. I plan to do some sled pulls here and there, so I'm probably going to have parts of the drivetrain cryo'd to reduce the chances of breakage. If I'm overstepping the rules by posting links to other businesses, please let me know.

for your shopping list consider looking at the ISSPRO performax line of guages since you're looking to build a nice engine later you'll be wanting to add more and the performax setup is an expandable configuration and works very well.
