I hate to make my virgin post with a help question , but I have a 2000 Super Duty with the 7.3 and it just stopped running !
It started fine and idled fine, when I got 100 feet from the house, it bucked and lost power, managed to get it back into the yard where it sits now.
I went and bought the CPS yesterday and replaced it today , figuring that would fix the problem...I was wrong:dunno Any other ideas???

First of All.. WELCOME to SDD

2K huh ? Was the CPS pins & connector plug clean ? Hows yer Battery charge & condition & age, the clamp connections clean?

Just some easy stuff to eliminate.

When it first did it..service engine light came on, but not since when the key is on.
Batteries are in good condition and cranks over with no problem, terminal connections were clean and not corroded,and the plug and pins on the CPS appeared to be in good condition.
Unforturately I dont have a code tester, so everything would have been hit and miss....so I had to bite the bullet and send it to the local ford dealer this afternoon...thats gonna leave a mark !:nutkick:
I appreciate all the input from everyone though, glad found this place

Yeah Crumm , Thats the first thing I looked at.
Got the bad news a little while ago...needed to set down before I passed out ..It wasnt pretty:(

The dealer called and hit me full force right where it hurts the most...my wallet. Gotta call the bank and try and get a loan !
Short somewhere in the system, 1,3,4&7 are completely dead, and all of the injectors are leaking down under pressure. Needless to say that means tracing the faulty wiring , replacing the o rings on all injectors,new fuel filter and oil change( because it needs it) etc.etc, oh and 140.00 freakin dollars for the diagnostic ! Grand MF Total....$:eek: 2,900 freakin dollars !!
I gotta find me a good diesel mechanic near me so I dont have to be raped by the dealers!

tell them to stick it! pay them the 140 and get that thing hauled home. at least get a second opinion.

if you are mechanically inclined then you can do most of it with our help- spend you bread on OBD tool and beer. we can help you through it.

you might have an under valve cover wiring fault. that is a common problem. as far as leaking O-rings, its tedious but duable. there is some info in the wiki and TBar has a photo montage of changing glow plugs and O-rings that pretty much covers it all.

Wish I could get it back and do it myself , unfortuatly , my hands are so crippled up , that mechanicin is something I cant hardly do anymore , what takes most people 15 minutes , will take me an hour, I had to bite the dust on this one , but put the word out on Tampa Truck Forums , lookin for someone that does it on the side or something. That way if anything goes bad in the future, I dont have to rely on a ford dealer !
Never thought I would have to borrow money from my bank to fix my truck ! lol
