Well, it looks like I am going to be appointed for a new position with the Rural Fire Department. They have asked me to fill a vacancy and be a Fire Commissioner. Don't know why they thought of me, :dunno but it is for my home town and county, so I'm doing it.

It's mostly the legal/business/money etc.. side of it, but since the fire dept is volunteer, they do go on calls when needed to help out. Let's see if I can keep from frying myself. :roflmao

Besides, I already have the red truck! :sweet Anyone know of a really cool set of red lights? -popcorn

Good luck man. LED's are great but can be kind of pricey. Hidden strobes in the taillights and headlights or turns signals. Just be clear on your state regulations as far a Emergency vehicles, lighting requirements and allowed use, etc.

I can go along with the LED lights. Put a pod in front over the rear view mirror, and a pod in the back, and might as well put some strobes in the lights front and back. That way you will be all flashy and not obvious. Should cost you around $500 for everything. For that matter, you might be able to stick some strobes in your marker lights...

thats great :sweet :sweet
how big is the department

Trucks or people??? As far as volunteers, I do not know yet. I know quite a few of them and we all hang out together on occasions, (mostly for coffee in the morning). They have 9 trucks ranging from tankers to brush vehicles, (No PSD's however, I'll have to fix that :thumbs ).

They respond to any structure/field/stack fires in the county, also help out the surrounding counties when needed, They also respond to accidents where fuel spillage is a possibility, since the city fire department does not have any tankers.

This county has never had any of their own resque/recovery divers, so I may fill that gap too. (Boy my parents are going to be mad at me  )

Now..... how much more equipment can I hang off my truck???? -popcorn :roflmao
