You might want to look into planting some 3' to 4' evergreens to break your wind. It will take a few years but they'll get the job done.

A lack of trees on my property ain't the problem, it's a lack of trees less than 40' to 50' tall. Where I really need shorter trees, is on the property of the a-hole behind us. The guy is a real work of art, he is probably one more strike away from becoming some bad man's biatch for a long, long time.

Besides, by the time some 3' to 4' evergreens got tall enough to do any good, I might be living in a 5th wheel RV. Possibly spending my winters parked in Robert's yard, watching him work on becoming "marinated buzzard bait". :tounge:nudge

my parents came home one evenging to find that the 50 year old pines that just about fully blocked the view to the neighbors, had all the limbs chopped to about 10' from the ground, and 2 of the younger trees were chopped down completely. the trees are on his property by about 5-10 feet, so it was his right to do whatever he pleased...........but now he gets to watch my dad walk around in his undies through his bedroom window, he gets to watch my brother and i do all of our crazy shop projects (including welding in the middle of the night) and when we have family gatherings he must feel like he lives next to a walmart, because all the cars are parked along the boundry on his side. needless to say there are 5 new younger trees planted on my parents side of the border, and my parents no longer need to see the glow from his 1/4 mile TV screen.

neighbors are PITA's. we had a few good ones when i was younger, but they passed away, or moved.

SIDING LOOKS GOOD! it will look like a million bucks when its done :D

Update

Aside from cleaning up some minor detail, the job's done:

The front is looking rather plain without shutters, but thats gonna wait til spring.

One little fun thing about the siding project. The mower deck on my lawn tractor is 46". My wife seems to like planting her flowers 44" from everything. :rant

But since the flowers were in the way of replacing the siding along the front of the house, they all had to go.:sly:sly Darn!!:stir:stir Most fun I've had in a long time.

You know if you "adjusted" them right from the start she might not notice. Now get out there and rake up the leaves...........

Don't have to.:tounge:tounge

The siding guys did it when they were cleaning up their mess and looking for loose nails with the roller magnet.

p.s. I'm at my daughter's house for a long weekend. I thinks I'll be spending a lot of time posed just like my avtar pic. :thumbs:thumbs:D:D
