new batteries?

after i did my truck cleaning and new cord install, i remembered we had a battery tester - a fancy mac tools one. i first did the pass. batt. checked out fine. i then did the driver batt. - no good..

i five finger discounted the battery tester to check them in the morning when they have sat out in the cold overnite tonight. i did record the readings from the first time and will compare them w/ the ones i do in the morning. when i get them i will post them up-for your viewing pleasure.... actually for your input.

p.s. i do believe i did see the words 'load' on the screen while it was testing and he did do them seperately. and terminals are clean as a babies bottom...

and your testing these batteries such that they are NOT connected to
each other right....

NOPE. AS THEY SIT IN THE TRUCK.

if you "load test" the batteries while they are connected you will
NOT be isolating the batteries...that is to say youll be testing them
as ONE....

as many know, if one battery is bad...it'll pull the good battery down
(eventually killing the good one too)...this is why its recommended that
you replace the batteries it pairs.

to properly load test the batteries they should be tested such that
they are disconnected...this way youll be able to determine if ONE battery
is bad or weaker than the other.

i know bush. my first test w/the work tester showed driver batt. bad. i just had not said anything about it yet. i was gonna double check in morning and post the definative results...but they were connected. perhaps i will disconnect the pass. side one and check them seperatly.
