New and looking for advice.......

Sorry for the novice question... I have an 04 6.0 with a zoodad, 4"turbo back, no cat, an edge evolution programmer, leveling kit with 35s. I noticed the other day ,with two snowmobiles on a sled deck, that when I am pulling from a stop that the boost is reaching 28-29 lbs, pullling away hard. I never seemed to notice these numbers that high before, even when towing. Always seemed to be max at about 22-23lbs. Is this too high for the stock turbo? Recently updated software on evolution. Truck has 95K with a brand new Ford turbo..

No, I have seen 30 pounds of boost on occasion. I would not run it all day at that level of boost. Nothing to worry about. I have no explanation as to why you are suddenly seeing those numbers. The worst that could happen is you could blow a rubber hose off of the intercooler. The truck will still run, but slower than normal.

Thanks for the response. The other thing I forgot to mention is that the truck had recently been in the shop where they reflashed the box with a couple of updates. Dont know if this made any difference, except now I seem to only be getting around 12 mpg, which sucks. Prior to this with the truck loaded with sleds I could easily get 14-15mpg. Was told that I really need to install head studs running like this?????

Additionally what other upgrades should I make to improve power, MILEAGE. I am on a budget so dont get too carried away

Was your Edge box connected when they reflashed your truck?

No, I reporgramed to stock prior to the new flash. It is always nice to have a friend who is the shop supervisor...
