Hi all.... obviously I am new around here and I have a stock 99 7.3 turbo
2wd. I have very limited funds but want to know if there are any inexpensive things I can do to help the performance of my new baby. I want to get her running the best she can with the least amount of money so if any of you experts have some simple cheap tricks on how to hop her up please let me know. :burnit

There are really not any really cheap ways to help the performance of your truck but most people start with a turbo back exhaust and a cold air intake, which gets the air moving in and out alot quicker. After that most do gauges (egt at the least) followed by a chip and/or a programmer.

Daveben is right a good start is an air intake and exhaust.

Well cheap =

Tymar DYI intake 30$ theere is your cold air intake, Zoodad as mentioned above.

30$ at a exhaust shop to straight pipe the current exchaust.

10K mod as mentioned above.

Remove the AIH = free
CCV for 10$ but thats not for performace, but will keep the IC boots from popping off.

Muffler delete or Walker BTM. If you have a "cat", make sure "it runs away from home".

anything beyond what has already been mentioned, you'll be well advised to get gauges. EGT, Boost and tranny temp are the customary ones.

If you have a 99.5, you can get DP-Tuner to reflash your PCM with a PMT-1 Econo 80hp program. That is a real bargin way of getting an improved tune without the expense of buying a chip or programer.
