I needed to replace the 16 year old TV set in the bedroom and the wife said she wanted a new plasma flat screen ever since I bought one for the toy hauler. I ended up buying the 42 inch Westinghouse HD "monitor" (W4207) from Best Buy for $979 and change and then getting the LG DVD recorder/player (DR787T) for $206 and change. The LG player has a digital tuner and you can manually increase the output resolution to 1080i with the HDMI cable so EVERYTING is now in 1080i off the second Dish Network box. I tried recording to DVD over the weekend and it had no issues recording the race at Lowes Speedway into MPEG4 format. The other reason I did the hookup this way was the cost of a 42 inch TV with a digital HD tuner built in is about $1500 and up so I save some $$$$ here. Oh yea, over the weekend Best Buy reduced the TV's price to $949 so I picked up the different and we went out to eat.
