Hi every one this is my first pick-up ever. I just picked up a 06 6.0 crew cab:D Wanted to know some reccomendations on what mods to do. I use truck every day and will be using it to tow 33-37 foot boat in 6-12 months from now. I was thinking about a chip/pda tuner . I don't want any dealer problems should a warranty issue come up. Thanks

Here is a pic:sweet

i know i waited until i hit 105,000 miles before i went all out with the mods.

i did install a K & N gen II pretty early after i bought it new, but thats all i did, dealer never gave me any problems with it.

i have heard that ford frowns on tuners, chips, etc. when still under warrenty, so keep that in mind.

gauges should be one of if not the first thing you do, boost, egt, and tranny.

then you could think about exhaust after that. i don't know tony, maybe just enjoy the truck for awhile, if you drive alot, those miles will add up fast, and when you go over 100k, start doing the big mods then since your concerned about what the dealer will think.

just be patient dude.

by the way, welcome and the truck looks great.:thumbs

:welcome Tony, Welcome to SSD.com Hope you like what you see here. I think you will love your truck and enjoy driving it everyday. The 6.0 has lots of power & torque
First off put some gages on it. I know it has a Transmissions gage on it but by the time it movies it's to late. So put on a good sat of gages. Pyrometers, Boost, Trans. Temp.
I would go with a top quality mandrel bent Stainless Steel exhaust systems ,like MBRP or Silverline Exhaust Systems. The 6.0 has about the best air filter you can get for your truck.:sweet :sweet :welcome :welcome

gauges first thing, Pyro, Tranny temp, and boost.
exhaust second thing, MBRP seem to be the favorite around here...
then air intake.
then you can chip it safely.... just uninstall the programs before you go to the dealer, and also clear all the codes....

if your talking about the banks pda theres always the option of buying the banks bundles that will get everything that works together... so love it, so hate it....
good luck

Nice ride...see this post for sponsor links that sell the stuff
you want & the stuff you dont know you need ;)

coolant filter 1st , then guages, then exhaust.

when you buy the coolant filter, get extra filters...the 1st one or two
will plug up <from all the sand and casting left behind by the factory>
i plugged my 1st filter in less than 1000 miles.

filtering the coolant will make your degauss bottle CLEAR (i couldtn
see the fill level in mine there was so much crud floating around) and
it will extend the life of your water pump as well as prevent clogging
of the radiator and other passages.

and oh yeah add FUMOTOVALVE to the early list of things
to do...it makes changing 13quarts of oil EASY and almost CLEAN !

start shopping around for fuel, trans & Oil filters....youll be SHOCKED
at how much the dealer will want for 'em...and even more amazed
at how cheap you can buy 'em for on the net.

Oh yeah and plan on putting some AUX Backup lights
somewhere under (or in) the rear bumper...great for
hooking up a trailer or just plain BACKING up.
