kill the cat if you want whistle - no effect on MPG, but i would do exhaust and leave the intake stock.

you can put a little box/chip on it to help w/ a little power (65hp or so)

the weak link in the 6.0 is the head bolts/headgaskets(cause of the 'puking' problem w/ the coolant you might have read about), but if you dont chip it 2 hot you wont really have any issues with them. the other weak link is the egr (the fact that it is there) - do yourself a favour and unplug it. other than that you should be good to go!

welcome to SDD, and i hope you love the 6.0!

just uplugging the egr
(do it when the truck is off so the egr stays closed)
will stop the Exhaust gases from reentering the intake...
makes for cleaner engine at the very least (and the reason I do it)
some say it makes more power,
some say it spools up quicker,
some say better mpg....
not sure of all that - but a clean intake is paramount in my decision to do it...

My 06 has an emission sticker that states its 50 state legal emissionwise.
so heres a trick question... how would my truck know if its in california or not :)
My exhaust is so clean now i swear its running on propane, it smells just like burning propane.
but oh yes an exhuast is on its next list of fun stuff, but i am keeping the cat.

Anyone tried this with an '05 in the Southeast? CEL?

My Texus 05 Ex set a code AND turned on the CEL...
so I plugged it back in....
My 03 Ex would set a code but not turn on the Chk Engine Light.... :dunno

And Powerboatr - good question....
maybe it knows it's in Kalifornia by the more expensive flavor of the fuel ????
or the politics of the region ????
or the number of Sacremento "nice guys" walking around holding hands ????

or.... :D :D :D
