ok,

2002 7.3L manual, 120k miles, i think original cps.

I'll be on the interstate just cruising around 65mph, and i get a real sudden power loss, and it picks right back up and keeps going.

lately the power loss has been more pronounced, and sometimes longer or kind of a rapid stutter. yesterday and today it has stuttered like this and then thrown a check engine light.

if i shut it off and restart it, the CEL goes away. driving a few minutes ago, it stuttered, threw a CEL, and then completely died, but started back up and the check engine light stayed off.

I have a replacement cps in the glovebox, is this most likely the problem?

thanks fellas
Paul

If you have a performance chip in the truck............pull it and see if the problem goes away.

if you dont, I would bet cash you have a cps problem. Your symptoms sound just like when mine went out. If you have a code reader, see if you have a cps error code.
