ok everyone have a question, I'm not sure if this is normal or not, and I hope I can explain it well enough to give everyone a good idea of whats going on. I've only had the truck for a week now and it just started doing this last night.

it's a 05 auto, when driving along at 40-50 mph and the transmission is in OD, with the rpm's low just chuggin along, the truck starts vibrate pretty bad, but once I give it a little pedal it goes away, it almost feel's like if you had a manual in too high of a gear, but the thing just started doing it. also if you tap the brake it goes and if you accelerate some it goes away. I was thinking converter shutter but why.any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ben

You might be having a converter problem, check the tranny dipstick for stange colors or smell. Okay, strange smell other than the fluid normally, the SP stuff reeks... Do you see any smoke out the pipe when it starts shaking? Any sound associated with it, grinding or whatever?

Does it do this just before it shifts out of OD, or can you hold it there and make it do it for a while? Might be possible (but I kinda doubt it) that maybe the adaptive shift learning may be getting out of wack for it's shift points depending on your driving style. But, since you're still under warranty, I'd let Ford worry about it.

Kleetus, I checked the fluid, and there's no strange smell or color, actually it looks new, there's no grinding smoking or anything.

when it does do it, I can hold it there as long as I want, but as soon as I tap the brake, or accelerate some it goes away. yesterday I disconnected the batteries and reset the computer, to see if maybe it learned the way I drive it would go away but nothing yet. I'm almost positive it's a converter problem. So I'm gonna take it to ford and let them deal with.

thanks ya'll for the help

Ben
