I have hooked up my pyro gauge and I know it is hooked up right but, nothing.

The only thing i can "think" might have happened was when I screwed my probe wires to the wires going to the gauge I then put a heat shrink tape around it and while pulling the heat shrink tape around the wires I could have made them touch.

Any ideas?

The way a pyro gauge works crossing the wires would give you a temp reading at the point of the cross. You might have a bad gauge or down in where the head of the prob is all it is in there are those to wires "welded togather". Your connections might have been pulled apart. Check there. There should be one red and one yellow wire. Make sure those are both connected red to red yellow to yellow. I hope that helps. Oh...I was born in Odessa, TX How Long you lived there?

I am going to pull the probe out and look at it in the morning. I can take either the red or yellow off the gauge and i know it is making contact because as soon as touch the wire to the gauge it moves a little. And the gauge moves to 200 deg. but, it wont go any further. I know it isn't the gauge because I tried another one I had new in the box and it didn't work. Needless to say I am frustrated but, I will figure it out.

I have been in Odessa all my life too. I went to Permian and graduated in 94.

I figured it out......

I had the 2 wires touching where you attach the probe wires and the gauge wires. ( yellow and red.) as soon as I seperated them, it started working fine.

Gauge installation

Glad to hear that you figured out the problem. Do you have a picture of your gauge installation? Only thing holding me back from purchasing a pyro gauge is where to mount it and make it look good.
You graduated in 1997? I guess you do not remember the good ole 40's.
I think it is great to see you young guy's doing fun things with your trucks.

I don't have any pictures but, I can. I will be home thurs. and I will take some from under the truck. I will post it up as soon as i can.

I graduated in 1994. And I yes, I have always modded every car i have had. I will have to say that this new powerstroke with the mods is the fastest "diesel" i have owned.

Here's a pic of the gauges and pod.

Nice clean installation - and the color match appears to be consistant with the instrument panel.

Did you mention the brand of gauges and your source ?

Thanks
