need help on cruise/vss....

I've seen a few ring gears that developed an odd wear pattern but never seemed to actually fail. Sort of kept wearing smoothly and pushing a burr out to the edge that would chip off. Just kept changing the gear oil yearly and kept going. Maybe try sticking a really strong magnet towards the side of the cover for now. Might catch the metal

Hey Don, ain't it scrary that great minds think alike ... ,wonder if anybody has a magnetized plug to fit the housing? gotta go an internet mission and find one......
