Need help!! 96 7.3 powerstroke turbo I went to go to home depot and it wouldnt start, I put starting fluid in it it gurgled and started now it wont rev over 2K and blows white smoke but idiols fine WTF? I talked to a frend who said the turbo might have went out, only thing it last time i drove it it was fine. It just broke from sitting there???? thanks steve

First, never use starting fluid in these things unless your glowplug system is made inoperable (baaaadd things can happen)! White smoke usually indicates raw fuel, so possibly one of the injectors is stuck open (if its pouring out white smoke). Does the white smoke go away if it warms up? Check all your external valvecover connections for melting/burning and remove the oil cap and see if it smells like burnt electrical insulation inside. This would indicate problems with the injector/glowplug wiring. Cheers!
