I want to put a 200 gallon tank in the bed of my F350. I will secure it to the bed well. If this tank had 150 gallons of oil in it, would I be safe driving it without baffles in the tank? The truck weighs 8000 pounds, but I don't want the 1200 pounds of oil in the tank slamin' around and throwing the truck this way and that. I would not drive it with the tank on snowy or icy roads.

So. Do I need baffles in the tank?

You need baffles in that tank. I work for an Envirnmental company that uses Vactor Equipment for sewer cleaning. There are tanks for fresh water and a large tank for debris. The fresh water tanks need baffles not just to keep water from pushing the truck but for support because there is alot of water force there pushing on those walls.

Definately baffle it!!!!!

When my 100 gal aux tank gets down to about 70 - 75 gallons you can feel it slosh even with the baffles. I'd hate to see what it's like without baffles.
