I just finished installing the international filters to replace the napa ones in question. The large filter has no water membrain to block water from going through to the injectors. The napa filter is also 150 thousandn'ts shorter plus the end sealing surface is way different. The small napa filter didn't have an o-ring inside to seal with plus was 60 thousandn'ts shorter inside where it pushs down on the valve to let the fuel in. Ford or Int. filters for me from now on.

How about a picture of the bottom of the 2 large filters. The difference looks like it is on the bottom of the Ford filter and I would like to see what that is.

If you look at f100's 2nd picture, you will see the indexing tab on the ford filter that should be seated in the HFCM. Thats why whenever I swap mine I put the filter in the housing, push in and turn until it seats, THEN put the cap on. I know it seems bass ackwards, but you can get an airleak if it doesn't seat.

My Mistake

I was looking at the 1st picture and the difference in hight. Looking at the 2nd. picture I now see there is a flange on the bottom of the Ford filter that accounts for the difference in hight. There is also a difference in the seal, Ford does not appear to have a seal and the NAPA seams to have a rubber seal.

Both have the index tab.

It was his comment about the hight difference I was trying to figure out.
