I had my first super duty shipped from Texas to Utah because it was a great deal on just what I wanted. Truck that was claimed to be road ready, came off the carrier and went straight to the shop for at least a week. Oh well, more about that in my future posts.
It's under warranty so not so bad. It will be awsome when I get it back running %100.
I am really excited to have found sdd.com it looks like an awsome resource for good experienced advice and good BS.
Will be posting soon!
Thanks Chris from Salt Lake City

Welcome Chris. Hope the new truck is up and running again soon.

I have seen your pic in your gallery, a very nice looking truck you picked up.

Hope to see future posts from you for along time. :thumbs

Thanks for the welcome

I have no problem naming the dealership and the sales man. The dealership, Elite Auto Group, is in Carrollton Texas and the salesman's name is :guns: Jon Glaser. The original add for the truck claimed that the dealership "inspects all their vehicles" and that they are "road ready". This is my fourth vehicle bought out of state over the internet, and the first time I have had a problem. I had over 60 photos of the truck sent to me before I committed to buying. Other than flying out for an inspection there was nothing more I could have done in the way of due diligence. Well, maybe I should have done a search on the VIN. It would have shown me a head gasket replacement at 16k miles. But I am confident about the truck's future, I take meticulous care of my vehicles, and I am super excited to get it back from the shop.:thumbs Although diesel in my area just went up to $3.45 a gallon, ouch! :nutkick:

Welcome to the community and acquisition of the new ride:sweet

There's plenty one can see with photos cosmetically but nothing beats seeing it in person, starting and driving the vehicle before committing to a deal;)

I or anyone else local that was available could have went out and inspected the truck for ya:)

Let us know how the repairs go:sweet

Yep, I can attest to that. Bill went and looked one over for a member here earlier this year. That's what we are all here for, to help one another. :thumbs

in his defense...sometimes that time it takes to run an oasis report and/or
get someone to look at it is enough time for someone else to buy the
car/truck.
