Yesterday afternoon, on it's 4th Anniversary", my PSD reached 100,000 miles exactly one mile from home. When I parked in the driveway, the odometer read 100001.0. I guess the engine is now "officially broken in". Due to the high prices I haven't been driving it as much lately. My wife and I usually ride together to work in the Five Hundred.

Nice. Shows the longevity of the PSD. I only have 22k to go (8mos or so).

Congrats!

Yep, and hopefully several more hundred to go. Saturday on Jerry Reynolds' talk show on WBAP, he was discussing diesels with a guy who wanted to buy a used one. He told him to stay away from the 03s and 04s because of the problems, but also mentioned the durability of the 7.3. He said when he was at Prestige Ford, they had a parts truck with a 7.3 and over 500,000 miles and counting. I hope to do the same, as long as the body holds up. If I stay on the current course, the 500K will be the year 2022. I'll be 70 that year. On second thought, maybe I'd better hope for 200,000 first. :D

Actually this is the first time in awhile that I've had a vehicle with at least 100,000 miles. The others were a 1987 Mazda B2000 Extended Cab with 192,000 (was into the second engine by then), 1986 Chevy Celebrity Wagon with 151,000 when traded, 1995 Crown Vic with 158,000 when sold, and 1993 F150 4.9 I-6 with 178,000 when sold (it was purchased used with 77,000). My oldest son has a 1995 F150 4.9 I-6 with around 160,000 on it and still going strong. He was thinking about a new one until a mechanic told him he might get 300,000 on it.
