can you share a ballpark range what kind of trade they gave you was it near nada or kbb a simple yes or no would be ok I don't want to get too nosey thanks I'm looking for a 4wd dually 99 03 w/7.3
The dealer's original bid was $5000, but the salesman, who is also the fleet manager got pretty hot over that offer and upped the bid to $6500, so that was the final offer. This is a good bit below what kbb and nada had when I did my own estimate online. Of course, it had a couple of small dents in the left rear quarter panel just in front of the bumper, and it had a crack in the windshield. The brakes were also making some noise and were beginning to be in need of repair. In addition (and I don't think the appraiser could see this) but I've been having air conditioner problems which probably relate to the compressor and probably would have had to spend around $1000 to fix that next spring. Hopefully this isn't too much info, but hopefully it will help in your search.

Wayne, you know you have a home here no matter what you drive.

Hey, you're still a Ford owner. Hope the wife enjoys the new ride.

Thanks Stephen. Yes, I always plan to be a Ford owner. My first job in 1972 was working in the office of a Ford dealership in Louisiana. In 1986, after getting laid off by an oil company, I sold Fords for a few months at the dealership where I now buy all my vehicles. My salesman is the guy who was my "trainer" when I worked there, and the dealer himself is one of the nicest people I've ever met.

It's funny how the these bigboys grow on you. If I lost mine, I'd feel like my legs were cut off.

Robert, the our F-150 is really a nice truck. It's a 2008 that we got in July 2008 when Ford had the employee pricing sale. Right now it has around 27000 miles with most of the mileage here in the DFW area. It's an XLT SuperCrew with the 5 1/2 ft bed, 4.6 V-8. So far this year, we've averaged 16.77 miles per gallon. It rides much softer than the 250 (which is to be expected), and much easier to handle in tight spots. The 2009 SuperCrew is about 6 inches longer (wheelbase increased from 139 to 145 inches for the 5 1/2 ft bed) with more rear seat legroom than the Super Duties. I wish ours had a power driver's seat because I really like raising the seat to the maximum so I can have a little better vision. Also, the color of ours is called "Stone Green" which is really a dark brown and has the light colored interior. I wish it had a darker interior because even the smallest stains show up. Of course, that makes us work harder to keep it clean.
