If I am correct (read: correct me if I'm wrong) the early 99 had a badge on the front fender similar to the V8 Triton, only it says V8 Powerstroke...as mine does. The 99.5+ have the badge on the door.

Don't go by fender badges. Go by the build date. The magic date was about 12/7/98 as the last date for the early 99. 12/8/98 and on were the 99.5. Generally prior to the change, there was a catalytic convertor, but it was dropped with the 99.5. Also, there was a Air Intake Heater refered to as an AIH begining with the 99.5. There were other changes albeit less visable changes with the 99.5.

Welcome to the dually club. I have towed fifth wheel trailers with single axle tucks and with dually. I have to admit that the dually wins when it comes to towing in high cross winds. I just like the way a dually feels while towing.
