Home Again
The adventure has come to an end. Due to dense fog in Detroit, both my flights were delayed. I was concerned I'd miss my conection in Detroit and be stuck there. I called the airline and told them if they were going to leave me stranded for the night, I'd rather do so and stay put in Nashville. I could have just called my son to come get me. But as it turned out, my 2nd flight was delayed also, allowing me enough time to get some supper. I shared a table and dinner chat with an Army soldier on his way home for 4 days before he headed for Afganistan.
But I made it back to Marquette about 1 1/2 hours late. I found my cherished F-250 waiting for me in the parking lot right where my wife & daughter had left it for me when I started experincing the flight delays. I got home and found my buddy waiting for me at the door, tail wagging so hard and fast I thought it would come off.
I'm glad I'm home, but I'll remember this trip with my boy as long as I live.
