Makes sense. I nearly bought a used one instead of my current F250 just for the transmission! But I got a better deal I think. And if your new interior is anything like the '02 Chevy 1/2 ton I had, it is very ergonomic but just not as roomy.
I have to say I don't much care for styling on any of the new ones I see running on the road, but I honestly haven't sat on the inside of a new HD of any stripe. I peaked at them a the Farm Progress Show last summer but mostly I was looking at the diesel exhaust fluid setups on the GM and Fords.
My brother in Michigan was looking over the new diesels (has an '01 dodge 3/4 ton) but freaked out over info on the frame-mounted DEF tanks (on Ford & GM). At 25% urea, he claims a 7F freeze point. He decided to sit tight for a spell as he also believes Dodge will follow suit. But at least not yet according to this website. Dodge's current EGR setup seems to be a dirty (to the engine) solution.
So I'll be really interested in your winter time experience with DEF!
