i know that the big rigs can have up to 10 gears but in a manual tranny. Can this be availiable for an automatic truck like my superduty. A friend told be that you can buy a tranny that mounts after the stock tranny to allow more gears. I tried searching for such a thing and couldnt find anything. my 456 gears have me going 65 at over 2000 rpm. and i get horrible gas mileage and i find my self on the freeway a lot now.

any infomarion on the topic or tips would be great

Mine's an 18 speed. :innocent. What kinda truck you driving? Those are some looooow gears, if you've got anything smaller than 40 inch tires. Probably be cheaper to change the gear sets, than add an overdrive unit?

I was driving a Kenworth C-500 with an 8V92TA and 13 speed in a ten wheel dump truck with a pup. The rig topped out at 74 mph. I sold it many years ago. I don't drive commercially anymore.

I did sleep at home every night, so that was a big benefit! I can see going X country occasionally, but not every day or every week. You have a nice looking rig!

change the gear set, the gear vendors sometimes don't hold up.
