Thank you all for your kind thoughts and words.

At the moment, I'm at my honey's bedside. (Since the hospital has WiFi, I can find something to do.) She's a little more chipper than yesterday, but still in a lot of discomfort. They had her sitting up in a chair just before I got here this morning. The nurse says she gets to go for a walk this P.M.

She's in the same hospital where she worked for over a dozen years. So there are a ton of folks that know she is currently here as a patient. I've been trying to discourage family from calling so she can rest. But her "roommate" has been getting too many visitors & phone calls, beyond that of hospital rules. The end result, it's been more like Grand Central Station than a quiet place to recover. I'll be glad when she is well to get home so she can get some peace & quiet.

Kent, glad to hear she is doing better!!

And, congratulations on being married for longer that many people have been alive! That is a lot of work and says a lot about both of you. Give your best friend a hug, from our family!

UPDATE

We brought her home on Saturday. She couldn't take the commotion in her room anymore. Her roomate was an elderly lady who's daughter is a local community leader. As a result, a lot of folks in the community, were coming into the room to give their well-intentioned regards to the old gal. The end result, it was more like Grand Central Station instead of a quiet, restful place to recover from surgery.

To make matters worse, the old gal really needed to be strapped into bed. If no one was with her, she kept trying to get out of bed and was in danger of pulling out all her tubes & I.V.'s. My wife is a nurse, and in spite of just having her appendix out a week ago, she felt compelled to try to keep the old gal from hurting herself, because the nurses on duty were not able to respond to the "call button" fast enough. This was causing pain due to her surgery wound and in turn caused a very stressfull environment in which to recover.

But my honey is back home again. She is in better spirits albeit still very, very uncomfortable. As a result, I'm sometimes her verbal/emotional punching bag, but I'm trying to grin & bear it. The doctor estimates she will be back to work on light duty in another 1 1/2 to 2 weeks.

I am glad to hear that she is back home! I know how "restful" hospitals are, having spent a couple of weeks in one myself. I could not wait to get home so I could sleep.

Glad to hear that she is home. The best rest anyone can get is at home in their own beds. I think that is one reason so may doctors have started doing day surgerys on the things that can be done and does not need to be watched closely. I hope for her fast healing and returning to regular activities.
