Moving to DFW, TX in December - Help planning route

Bama & Mike... The reason I picked the I-95/I-20/I-10 route was because in 98 we picked our Daughter & G-kids up in Hampton Va to bring them out here while the son in law was overseas.. It started SNOWING in Roanoke Va and did'nt stop SNOWING til we got east of Kingman AZ

6 days to get back here. Interstates closed in 4 states. 100 year storm in Gallup Nm..2 dayz there, snowed in in a KOA. No.2 daughter 8 months Preg, with 3 G-kids in a 11ft Camper...

I'm a quik learner... Stay close to the Coasts.. in the Wintertime

WOW, wouldn't catchin a plane have been the better way to go?

Thanks for all the comments! So the direct route may be doable depending on weather. I will look into the 7 day forcast when it is close enough and then use the I95 to I20 route if it doenst look good.

My mother in law has a house in Arlington for sale (that's right between D and FW)

She's asking 75K. 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 1-car garage with fenced back yard. Brick. Nice little place....

Yeah I know where Arlington is at…. Cause that’s where I am moving I am actually within walking distance to the Arlington Golf Course and Lake Arlington is just right down the street. In the future I may be looking at other houses but my money is tapped right now

Thanks for the offer! The only thing I need help finding right now is a quality/honest general contractor (I think that is what they are called). The house was built in 1978 and needs the Kitchen and bathrooms redone. There is nothing wrong with them but the kitchen still has that 70s look (complimented with the same stove/oven that came with the house when it was built) and the bathrooms still have wall to wall carpet. I also want to look at changing the 3 car garage ceiling to a vaulted ceiling so I can fit a lift in there If anybody knows someone I would be interested in talking to him/her early January.

I would like to get with them around the first week of January and do a walk through in my house. I just want to shoot some ideas back and forth, i have never done anything like this so i dont know what anything costs. Sitting down with somebody to discuss everything with help me plan my finances for the upcoming year. Because i wont actually be scheduling any work to be done i am more then happy to pay them for thier time.

I know one of the things i wanted to do was add more 220/240V outlets to the garage for lift, air compressor, etc. And with the vualted ceiling i wanted more lights. Also, with my brother and i being so big into computers (ie online gamming) and home theater i might need more outlets or more circuits added so i dont overload the current circuit breakers.

Looks like i moved to the right area maybe i should just invite everyone over.
