I ran a search and was unable to find any info on this.

I have 2 10 JL W3 V2 subs that I want to put behind the back seat of my CC
due to there mounting depth they will not fit.

I have seen somewhere:dunno that someone moved the rear seat forward and put 2 w3's behind it. I believe he biult some spacers for the seat bracket
out of aluminum.

I have talked to several local car audio places who say they can move the seat forward and biuld me a box, but none of them will tell me how they're going to do it, and they want $150-$225 just to move the seat, plus $150-$200 for a box. There has got to be a cheaper way, that I can do it myself.

Any ideas??? Some pics of this already done would be a huge help.:thanks

i haven't begun trying it yet, i wanted to move/lift my rear seat a bit. i planned to use square or rectangular tubeing, i figured i could drill offset holes and use either nutserts or just weld some nuts inside it.

no idea how well it will work. i hoped to find some pop-in plastic covers at home depot or a hardware store, i was going to try to find them first, them use tube that fit.

looking at it, it looks like i can use a straight chunk of tube, i won't need to cut it down and use 4, but i haven't unbolted the seat to make sure yet

I put mine in a box that the stereo shop had already built and I didn't have to move the seat forward at all. I'll try to get some pics this evening.

Nevermind. You're putting W3s behind it. We looked at those as an option, but the depth was going to be a pain. So, I went with the w1s and they sound kick@ss back there.

Just In Case You Would Consider Something Different......

In case you would consider something a little different........JL Audio makes a "Stealth Box" that is designed to be mounted in the center console. It is a single W3 (I believe) that handles 300 watts rms/continuous. This thing is awesome!:sweet I drive it with one of JL Audio's 500 V2 amps (as per Bush Pilots recommendation) I never thought my truck could sound so good!:D

Jerry

jerry's right the stealth box is a good set up...but youll NEVER
wanna sit on that "seat"...even for a SHORT ride...the only padding
is from the cover that you pull off the stock center seat and put over
the stealth box.

I thought the JL steath box only had a W1???
Either way, I already have all the subs and amp, my brother gave them to me
and I'm not going to spend $500 for a box. I'm sure it sounds great, but my amp would blow a W1 or even a single W3 in just seconds I'm sure.
My amp is a MTX Thunder 1501D hitting 1500 watts RMS at 1ohm. If I were
actually buying all new stuff, I would do the W1's but since it was all free, I WILL
Make do with what I've got, I just don't know how yet.:dunno

Thanks for all the comments/suggestions thus far....
