I agree, it would be great if WM or some of the many popular auto parts stores would choose to carry this oil. After all, there are many PSD owners out there.

I called a Ford Dealership in my area today. They do stock the 5w40 MC @ 4.23 per quart. Although, you can get the Rotella 5w40 cheaper at WM the dealer price is not as bad as I thought it could be.

Does anyone OTHER THAN Amsoil make a full synthetic 15-40 oil? I checked a local supplier and he's asking almost $30 a gallon:eek:

Synthetic is normally 5w-40 rather than 15w-40. Amsoil and Royal purple make sythetic blends that are 15w-40 but most such as Mobil and Rotella make 5w-40 which takes the place of 15w-40. $20-$35 a gallon is about normal for any Synthetic engine oil.

I think if WM or some of the parts stores end up carrying the MC 5w40 diesel and sell it at a reasonable price, it will catch the attention of many diesel owners.

Are you sure that price is for the MC 5W40 syn.? I read somewhere that the dealer cost for a 5 quart jug is about $30

That's what the parts guy stated. To be quite honest, at $4.23 per quart is not a bargin in my opinion.

I looked at the owner's manual for my 07 6.0, and it "recomends" 15-40. But 10-30 is "acceptable if not towing trailers". They put the 5-40 below the 10-30 even.... for colder climates.
