Hello everyone,
I’m looking at buying a set of 20x10 Moto Metal 955s. While I really like the look of these wheels, I’ve read a few posts on various sites about the chrome finish pitting after only a few months. Also, I ran into a guy today that has them on his truck and they are pitting a little and according to him, they're less than a year old. Is this a common issue with Moto Metal wheels? If so, is there any way (i.e clear coating the chrome, using a sealant, etc.) to prevent the pitting?

Thanks
Ryan

I bought mine used from a guy in TX and they had a slight bit of pitting on them already. I ran them through a MN winter with plenty of salt and washed them freuently and they are still slightly worse than before. It's not a huge deal, you can only notice it if you are right up looking at them. It's mostly on the inside edges of the spokes on mine.

I would hate to spend a good chunk of change on new wheels and have the finish deteriorating within a year....how will they look after a couple of years?:dunno Just my opinion...

They don't seem to be getting worse. They are not that bad really. I will try to take a pic and post it to show you what you can expect after over 2 years.

Thanks.;tu.. Sometime later this year i might be upgradin' the rolling stock. There are an awful lot of manufacturers to choose from. Personally I like some of the Helo desingns but Id like to know how their finish holds up over time...

South Central MN, near Mankato. Thanks for the warm welcome but I gotta admit, I'm not a Superduty owner yet. I have an 06 F-150 but it's leveled with mudders on it. I have been thinking about upgrading if I can find a good deal and a good trade on my truck.

If you're wanting to upgrade to a diesel just hold your horses for a little while and let these diesel prices get up to about 6 bucks a gallon and you'll be getting a steal from someone.... IMHO
