I am guessing that you don't plan on your 800hp mods with the proposed rise in fuel prices. I bought a Toyota Corolla just for this reason.

I've been commuting in my '93 bmw for 5 or more years. the truck is used when I need the people hauling capacity or the towing capacity

The wife and I have a Prius for daily driving. The truck is used for moving the motorcycle trailer, lumber. We try to limit the use of the truck due to fuel costs. I take the truck out once a week just to run it.
At $5+ / gallon for diesel, I will keep the truck parked and it will be used only if if necessary.

I found a fuel stops in south Fla. 4,79 gal. most around 3.95. So I'm working on starting rebuilding the jeep motor. Its getting around 8 mpg and having just under 200k for mileage. It needs some loving.

heck right now the 3.89/gal is not pleasant when I'm using the truck as a commuter since the alternator died on the car and I'm waiting on the replacement to arrive.

We have been at $ 4.13/gal+ for while now. I hope it does not go to $ 5.00/gal.
