DT466 is the 466 cubic inch inline six cylinder diesel engine.
T444 is the 444 cubic inch V-8 diesel engine.

International used to use the "DT" to designate diesel engines (they also made gas for awhile). When they dropped the gasser line, they quit putting D in front of the T.

If the 444 or 466 does NOT have an "E" at the end, then it is a MECHANICAL engine. Meaning no electronics, no brain, all hardware.

DT466E and T444E are electronic engines with brains and crap.

They share a handful of sensors, but they are two very different engines.

The "BLUE CPS" is the Cam sensor for the 466 engine. It is close enough to the 444 engine sensor that the two are interchangeable.

NO ONE has shown DOCUMENTABLE and REPEATABLE proof that swapping for the blue one does anything. However, lots of guys are reporting percieved changes and calling it the wonder sensor.

I want to see dyno runs, and an oscilliscope readout of the two sensors.

WOW thanks for the info, thats great im really impressed on how you guys get back with me soo fast, so the 2001 7.3 is a T444E, well my cam sensor is getting replaced today and i think i might try the Blue cps, so will i need to ask for a 6.0 Liter Powerstroke camsensor, did they bring the 6.0 back for 05 and 06?

I dont understand the question.

The 7.3 liter powerstroke is a t444e. The DT466 is about 7.6 liters, its bigger.

The new 6.0 is about 366 cubic inches, but its still the V-8 design. The new 6.0 does not share sensors with the older trucks.

Whn you go in, you will ask for a CMP (or CAMP) sensor for a DT466E 6-cyclinder engine.

Oh sorry i was just making sure that I understood what you told me before about what kind of engine i had, My truck was built in 08/2000 so that would make my truck the T444E, So when i ask for the new sensor, can i just tell them i need a CMP Sensor for a DT466E, or will I have to give them a year of truck that sensor is suppose to go with, or will they know,?

I think they should know. The "year" thing has to do with the 96-97 trucks. There was a transistion period. Im not aware of a transition period on the 466 sensors. Also, dont be suprised if its not blue. It could also be black, but most ppl have been getting blue.

I am not nit-picking, nor am I getting hung up on details. Just a friendly little clarification.

The Ford 7.3 and the International T444E are not the "same." While they are both the same block, etc and *most* of the mechanical stuff is the same, the electronics on the 7.3 Ford are mostly different from the T444e.

The T444E also has a different HPOP, I think different injectors, and so on and so forth and scooby-dooby-dooby... :D

THe only reason I am posting this is so that people don't go out and buy parts from International for their 7.3 assuming it is the same, when many of the parts are not interchangable. Just a friendly reminder to do your homework first before you buy the part.

That said, MANY parts are interchangeable, and most can be bought cheaper from IH than from Ford. The CPS is one of them.

Again, not nit-picking to make myself look like the smart guy, just trying to make sure someone doesn't read this, take it out of context, and go buy parts that won't work. :)

You really need to get a scanner on it! You could throw parts at it all day and get no where sometimes. Some people probably spend the same $$ for parts as a good scan tool. Good luck, hope you get it running soon!
