More help for a new powerstroke owner.

I was wondering about the 6.0 to a 7.3 intercooler swap. Should I go with an aftermarket one from some place like Banks or would one off of a truck outa the boneyard be just as good when talking bang for buck? What model 6.0 do I need one from? Because I found one up the street for $175. Also if I go with the AFE stage 2 intake should I still do the Doodad mod? Has anybody done any snowplown wit this mod? Is there any good pics and step by step instructions for the intercooler swap? Where can I find the longer hoses for the hook up?

General rule of thumb, Banks stuff is overpriced and you can do better & get better deals from most of the vendors that sponsor this site.

6.0 intercoolers are not that pricey. I did the enire upgrade for about $300. I got the intercooler from Powerstrokeshop.com and the 2 connector boots and clamps I needed from another site. If you can get a 6.0 intercooler for $175, jump on it. It was a pretty easy upgrade to do. The most tedious part was re-routing the tranny cooler lines.

There are bigger intercoolers out there, but at $1000+, it's a value judgement you'll have to make. Unless you plan on getting bigger injectors and a bigger turbo, the 6.0 intercooler should work fine.

Also what model should I get the intercooler from? The one I got priced is off a 03

That will work fine. You can use any year any model.
