Buyers Plan for Diesel Pickups

More consumers are planning to purchase fuel-efficient diesels as their next vehicle. According to AutoPacific, about 5 percent of total new-vehicle buyers plan to buy a diesel-powered vehicle at their next purchase. Approximately 22 percent of those surveyed said that they would choose a new diesel model within the next two years.
Of the consumers surveyed, 54 percent would consider a Ford truck, 30 percent a GMC, and 49 percent were considering Chevrolet. About 80 percent of future diesel owners are male, compared to an industry average of 60 percent male. While Ford holds a major market share in diesel trucks, Chevrolet and Dodge are showing up more in consumers' stated consideration of vehicle brands
