All of southwestern Minnesota's roads are closed due to high winds, blowing snow, and -35 to -40 degree windchills. Roads are drifted closed with zero visibility at times. The state closed I90 this morning and called plows off. We worked on county roads till late morning then gave up. Going to be a long winter if this keeps up.

For the state, county's, cities, and townships it will pull them way over their snow removal budgets. Will end up paying for it in tax increases next year.

We had 6-8inches around here with near 40mph winds and subzero temps. Ditches are level full from the last couple of storms with cuts 6-8ft through bad spots so any snow and wind is going to shut us down till this stuff melts some. Wind changed to the south today and filled in roads again. Parts of state highway 60 and 71 were closed this morning. And ya we were out again.
