I'm the proud owner of an 08 F450 w/4:88's and here are my numbers. Realize these numbers are a combination of rural and highway driving (NO towing). Also, this reflects majority of the driving between 55 and 70 mph (I did run on cruise at 75 for about 60 mi on one tank). No short trips (start - drive 3-4 miles and stop), no stop and go driving.

1st; 309.6 miles 29 gallons = 10.67
2nd; 202.2 miles 18.4 gallons = 10.98
3rd; 155.1 miles 13.3 gallons = 11.66
4th; 235.4 miles 20.7 gallons = 11.37

Total; 902.3 miles / 81.4 gallons = 11.08 average mpg

my previous 1999 7.3 with 3:73's was turning about 2000 @ 65.

4X4, crew, long box and got about 15.5 back and forth to work and up to about 17.5 highway. It wasn't half the truck this 450 is......for only having alittle over 900 miles on it, I'm ok with 11 avg mpg

Hi, I'm getting about 12mpg highway/10 mpg city on my 2008 F-450 crewcab 2wd (4.30 rear end) with powerstroke. Still only have about 900 miles. Expect it to creep up, as it breaks in. Pulling 15,000# horse trailer, am seeing about 8.5mpg so far.
