Hey fellas. I hope this does not sound like a dumb question, but do diesel's have a pcv valve like the gas engines do? Those things can get pretty plugged up if you don't change them out. I never really thought about it. I do my regular maintenance on my truck (oil, oil filter, fuel and air filter) and never even bothered to look if my truck had one. Do the trucks have some kind of ventilation system? Is there anything else that I need to check for? Only that deals with the engine. A response would be appreciated. :thanks

I looked on my Ford DVD and I could not see anything for a PVC in the diesel engine. I have not seen it on my truck, but I may have just missed it.

no pvc...but the crankcase is VENTED (it has to be or it would
come apart from the internal pressures).

but youve hit on an important issue Joey...our engines, thanks in
LARGE to the EPA, are not vented to the atomosphere...the crankcase
is vented back into the turbo & the intercooler...thats why you get
oil blowing past the flex boots on the intercoolers...its inside
the intercooler !

there are 3rd party companies that make crankcasevent/filters...
(cause again its against to law to vent to the atomosphere anymore),
so these "filters" catch the oil and need to be drained and changed.

im considering adding one to my own truck !
