Google "Pace-Edwards" or "Retrax"--IIRC, they both make metal retractable tonneau covers (although the Retrax unit might be polycarbonate, but I'm not positive).

I have the Pace Edwards on my truck. There are great, the only thing is during the winter with snow and ice you can't get them open! I would rather have a truck cap, but I tow a fifth wheel and would have to remove the cap when towing.

We have the pace edwards "roll top cover" works great, maybe even helps with mileage...Maybe. Pace Edwards makes a bunch of different covers, some with remotes and electric operation ect.
We like the cover works just like they say
